Professional Experience

My name is Megan Parris. I currently work as the Channel & Performance Specialist at Idea Ranch. Formerly, I have worked as the Marketing and Research Manager for the Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation and Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce. Prior to that role, I was the Director of Strategy for a startup tech company.

Education Experience

I have loved English ever since I was little. I was always writing songs, stories, poems and letters. I got my degree in English Professional Writing with a minor in Linguistics after figuring out that Nursing and Entomology Bioforensics, though passions of mine, were not in line with my career goals. Rhetorical analyses and autoethnographies were more of interest to me than starting IV’s and examining DNA.

Exploring My Background

My particular passion lies in editing. I worked in the writing center at Oklahoma State University tutoring undergrad and graduate students. Though I love to write, I enjoy reading other people’s writing more. I have also freelance edited with several publishing companies working on anything from manuscripts to poetry.

I am an avid animal lover and have a habit of rescuing pets from bad situations. have a cat named George who I rescued from the Stillwater pound my senior year of college. He had been abused and improperly declawed when I adopted him. After lots of rehabilitation, he is now a very happy, lazy cat. I also rescued, Ringo, a German Shepherd Great Pyrenees mix, from a rundown apartment complex where he was malnourished and on his deathbed. Then I rescued, June, a Great Dane Black Lab mix, who was abandoned at a work site.

All work that I do is done to the best of my abilities! I am very passionate about what I do, and I look forward to meeting and working with you!
